Amortization is the process of decreasing the value of an intangible asset over a period of time to show that it is used up, usually following an amortization schedule.

There are many kinds of amortization schedule. As listed below

  • Straight line (linear)
  • Declining balance
  • Annuity
  • Bullet (all at once)
  • Increasing balance
